The PNG NRL BID and Ela Motors produced a great event for the Ela Motors Legends of League. The  match played on Saturday 19th November  was all about fun and entertainment for fall those attended. PNG rugby league fans turned out to Llyod Robson Oval in Port Moresby to witness several of the former greats of the game in action.

The Legends match was a huge hit. It brought together 40 State of Origin greats including PNG legends Marcus Bai, Adrian Lam, David Westly and John Wilshere. As the major sponsors, Ela Motors brought this international event to the people of PNG to showcase the support for the BIDs desire for a future PNG team into the Australian NRL competition.

The game day opened up with curtain raiser games and entertainment from one of PNG’s popular band Jokema. All players were looking their best in their origin colours as they ran onto the field among the cheers of the jubilant  crowd. It was a thrilling four quarter match that was played in 20 minute intervals between the Bisley NSW Blues and SP QLD Maroons.

The Blues were victorious over the Maroons with an entertaining 40-36 scoreline. Both teams demonstrated great ball skills, outstanding foot work and powerful hit-ups  proving that they haven’t lost the origin greatness. The match was a huge success and all players and supporters enjoyed a memorable day.
