There were Yamaha models for everyone on display at the recent Yamaha Open Day held in Port Moresby on Saturday 23rd October 2010.

“With the wide range of Yamaha models now available in PNG, the idea of getting them all together in one place would really help our customers see what was available,” said Paul Abbot, National Marketing Manager Ela Motors. “People in PNG tend to associate Yamaha with our marine products, but we are able to offer much more than that. It was quite incredible once we assembled the display, to see the reaction of the customers to the full line up.”
“As this was the first event of its kind for PNG, a team from Yamaha in Japan travelled down to be part of the day and to have the opportunity to meet with our customers in order to better understand the market. Our guests included the Regional Manager for Oceania plus members of the Sales, Parts and Service teams who have responsibility for this region and the high calibre of attendees from Yamaha is testament to their respect for this market and support that Yamaha are willing to commit here.”
The display area included the full range of generators, Outboard motors; both 2 stroke and 4 stroke, Wave Runners, offroad motor bikes, quad bikes and Rhino all terrain vehicles. An additional bonus was the launch of the Yamaha 25ft Cabin Cruiser which is now available in PNG.
“Over the course of the day, we had demo rides in the new cabin boat, on the 1800 supercharged Wave Runner, plus the Rhino all terrain vehicle,” said Abbot. “This gave prospective customers the opportunity to touch and experience the product first hand. For existing customers, we also offered the chance for our service technicians to run a free diagnostic check on their outboard motors.”
“Over 200 invited guests took advantage of the opportunity to view and test the product range. The success of this day has encouraged us to look at options for other venues around PNG as well,” concluded Abbot.
